Manage assigned construction projects to ensure they meet corporate goals for safety, quality, budget, schedule and profitability. Provide direction and leadership to Project Coordinators and Site Superintendents for assigned projects and promote the values of the company (integrity, fairness, responsibility, leadership and collaboration) and positive working relationships with all stakeholders necessary to achieve company objectives.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings and applicable building codes
• Be the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects
• Attend site regularly to monitor progress and quality
• Oversee the daily progress ofproject construction to ensure compliance with the schedule, budget and contract
• Develop and maintain construction schedules in coordination with project team to meet milestones and completion dates
• Provide clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved
• Ensure the health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures are followed
• Negotiate and issue subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitor their progress and schedule
• Provide performance status reports for safety, cost forecast and schedule
• Manage all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact
• Prepare and/or verify progress payments to clients and trade contractors and monitor approval and payment progress
• Ensure an efficient project closeout after project completion

Requirements

• 10+ years relevant construction experience in a similar role
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent construction experience
• Proven track record in managing and leading self-guided teams
• Legally able to work in Canada

Other Skill/Abilities

• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Proven ability to train, mentor and develop junior staff
• Ability to prioritize several complex projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Project
• Previous experience with Procore would be an asset
