Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Project Director - Construction to lead major infrastructure projects from Saint-Hyacinthe, balancing on-site leadership with strategic financial oversight.

This permanent, full-time role requires a Civil/Construction/Mech Engineering degree, 10+ years PM experience, and a Professional Engineer designation; hybrid work with some travel and a strong focus on safety, budgets, and subcontracting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent; 10+ years experience in construction PM; senior management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and client-facing negotiation skills; proven budget control and scheduling discipline.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Fieldwire and MS Office for project coordination and reporting.
• Professional Engineer designation with OIQ is a major asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for major integrated construction projects in Saint-Hyacinthe and surrounding region.
• Lead and mentor project managers across civil engineering, building construction, and process mechanics.
• Develop detailed project schedules, analyze work sequences and critical paths.
• Manage overall budgets, update forecasts, and monitor costs/variances.
• Negotiate procurement and subcontracting agreements for civil, building and structural packages.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring safety and quality standards on site.
• Be a strategic contact for municipal and institutional clients and partners.
• Promote health and safety best practices and coordinate with senior leadership.
