Job summary

Stantec seeks a seasoned Construction/Program Manager to lead field and office activities on water infrastructure projects in Canada. The role balances site supervision, contract administration, and client coordination, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

The position requires a technical construction background, 10+ years in water/sewer or tunneling work, and travel to project sites as needed. Toronto area with opportunities in Mississauga.

Qualifications

• Technical degree/diploma/certificate in construction with supervisory responsibility.
• P.Eng or CET is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with watermains, sewers and/or tunnelling, open cut and CPP construction projects.
• Position may require travel to out-of-town projects.

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight and supervision of the site inspector(s) for assigned projects and administration of the construction contract.
• Be a role model and leader with respect to Health and Safety.
• Observe and review projects during construction, ensuring conformance with plans and codes.
• Monitor progress, ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.
• Review payment draws from Contractors and prepare certifications for project owner.
• Communicate with Project Manager, Client and design team to resolve site issues.
• Provide a public relations role to the public on construction projects where applicable.
• Provide updates on project progress or delays to the Project Manager and/or Client.
• Review change orders and field orders for pricing reasonableness and constructability.
• Review plans, specs, RFIs, submittals, schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC).
• Prepare documents and maintain file management of project-related information.
