A growing maritime-based company is seeking a Fibre Optic / Communications Construction Lineman to enhance their expanding networks in Nova Scotia. The role includes working with a team of fibre splicers to install and manage fibre and cellular networks, requiring strong customer service and teamwork skills. Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license, be flexible in shifts, and willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years field experience with communications lines.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• Install cable for FFTH and Cellular networks.
• Complete site surveys and report project results.
• Read network plans and implement updates.

Wave Atlantic Fibre Communications is currently seeking a Fibre Optic / Communications Construction Lineman. Working on diverse expanding fibre and cellular networks in Nova Scotia and surrounding area. Superior customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure is essential for this position. This Lineman will be working with a team of fibre splicers. Building and expanding fibre networks including reading maps, Strand work, Lashing and pulling fibre optic cable. Must be willing to travel and be flexible in work shifts depending on our customers needs.

Duties

• Install Cable / strand for FFTH networks, Cellular networks and Commercial installs
• Keep up to date results and reporting these reports on all projects
• Ability to complete site surveys
• Read network plans and convey changes / updates
• Ability to work in unsupervised work sites
• Completing strand work, lashing up Fibre, aerial drops, conduit pulls and inside cable pulls
• working with ladders on pole line

Experience

• 2 years field experience required working on communications lines
• Cellular experience considered an asset but training provide
• Boom truck experience is required

Other qualifications

• Need valid Class 5 drivers licence with good standing drivers abstract
• criminal record check
• Flexible in work shifts and travel
