Job summary

Buttcon Limited in Vancouver, BC is seeking an Estimator to join our pre-construction team. You will analyze project specs, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and procurement to ensure feasible bids and competitive pricing. A bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of construction estimating experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of construction estimating experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency with estimating software and costing tools.
• Solid understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs, drawings, and documents to understand scope.
• Identify materials, labor, and equipment needs for estimates.
• Quantify risks and variables that affect project cost.
• Use specialized software to calculate accurate estimates.
• Break down components for precise cost calculation.
• Gather market data on materials costs and labor rates.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for information.
• Collaborate with procurement to price materials and supplies.
• Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids based on estimates.
• Ensure all direct, indirect, overhead, and profit costs are included.
• Maintain records of estimates, bids, and related documents.
• Update estimates as project details evolve and change.
• Present cost estimates and bids to clients and management.
