Job summary

Great Canadian Roofing & Siding is seeking a Construction Estimator to support the preparation of project estimates by reviewing drawings and gathering quantities for materials, labour, and equipment. You will aid in tender analysis and help ensure estimates meet project requirements and company standards.

In this role you will work with management and sales to develop proposals, maintain supplier information, and present clear estimates.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math and measurement skills for estimates.
• Willingness to learn estimating processes and tools.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
• Basic communication with team and supervisors.
• Experience with construction materials and methods is a plus.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

As a Construction Estimator, you'll support the preparation of project estimates by reviewing drawings, gathering quantities, and assisting with cost calculations for materials, labour, and equipment. Your day may include helping analyze tenders, verifying scope details, and ensuring estimates align with project requirements and company standards.

You’ll work closely with management and sales teams to support proposal development, maintain supplier information, and help present clear, complete estimates. From tracking details to supporting contract discussions, your work will contribute to accurate bidding and successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
• Completion of, or working toward, post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in construction, roofing, insulation, or a related trade is an asset.
• Willingness to learn construction estimating processes and tools.
• Basic understanding of construction materials, tools, and installation methods.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
• Basic communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
