LIUNA Local 180 is currently accepting resumes for Labourers with concrete placing/finishing experience, and Labourers with Earthworks experience, for upcoming work.

Concrete Finishers/Placers

Must have experience working around concrete pump trucks, placing concrete slabs and walls up to 20 feet high, and grade beams by line pump, overhead pump truck, and chutes. Experience includes raking, vibrating, screeding, bull‑flagging concrete, using hand tools, and power trowels from 36" to 48" in size, possibly riding on power rollers. Must also have experience jackhammering, shot‑blocking, green cutting concrete, and using concrete saws, patching concrete and grouting columns and bases.

Earthworks Labourers

Must have experience using a rotary laser level and be able to read and understand blueprints and grade stakes. Experience working with various types of tampers (plate tampers, jumping jacks, and sheep’s foot tampers) is required. Must be able to work near heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, and rock trucks. Jobs are labor intensive and involve heavy lifting, shoveling and raking of concrete and backfill material, ascending and descending ladders, and working in extreme weather conditions.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and have a valid driver’s license. SCOT, Rights and Responsibilities, Ground Disturbance, flagging, confined space entry, and fall protection tickets are considered an asset.
