Job summary

Autismservices is seeking Labourers with concrete placing/finishing experience and Earthworks Labourers. Ideal candidates will perform intensive labor including heavy lifting, shovelling, and using various tools like jackhammers and concrete saws.

Successful applicants will need to pass a drug test, have relevant safety tickets, and possess a valid driver’s license. The position may require working in harsh weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Experience working around heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Place concrete slabs and walls using various techniques.
• Read blueprints and grade stakes for Earthworks.
• Perform heavy lifting and manual labor in extreme conditions.

Job Overview

Concrete Finishers / Placers

Concrete Finishers/Placers must have experience working around concrete pump trucks, placing concrete slabs, walls up to 20 feet high, and grade beams by either line pump, overhead with pump truck, and chutes.

• Rake, vibrate, screed, bull float concrete


• Using hand tools


• Using power trowels from 36\" to 48\" in size and possibly ride on power towels


• Jackhammering, bush hammering, green cutting concrete, using concrete saws, patching concrete and grouting columns and bases

Earthworks Labourers

Earthworks Labourers must have experience using a rotary laser level and be able to read and understand blueprints and grade stakes. Experience working with various types of tampers (plate tampers, jumping jacks, and sheeps foot tampers.) You will also be working near heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, and rock trucks.

These jobs are very labour intensive and involve heavy lifting, shovelling and raking of concrete and backfill material, ascending and descending ladders. You will also be working in extreme weather conditions.

General Requirements

• You must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and have a valid driver's license.


• SCOT, Rights and Responsibilities, Ground Disturbance, flagging, confined space entry, and fall protection tickets would be considered an asset.
