DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a leader within our Contract Administration Division, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of your projects.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Supervising Construction Inspectors;
- Reviewing and understanding relevant OPSS and contract special provisions;
- Interpreting requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications;
- Inspecting construction operations to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality, and safety standards;
- Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports, and maintaining documentation;
- Reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing the contractor’s critical path schedules;
- Reconcile progress payments promptly and ensure compliance with payment requirements;
- Proactively identify issues, recommend mitigation measures, and evaluate incidents early;
- Promote and oversee compliance with health and safety regulations;
- Prepare reports, quantity measurements, claims, and payment certifications;
- Liaise with contractors and clients;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering;
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus;
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills;
- Willingness to learn;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with registration and insurance;
- Flexibility to work and travel to site locations within the area.
EXPERIENCE
- Registered as an EIT, P.Eng. with PEO, or RCCA with OACETT, if applicable;
- Completion of MTO T131 - Advanced Claims - Dispute Resolution course;
- Experience supporting roles such as Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or Assistant on at least two projects;
- 5+ years of experience in structural, watermain, asphalt, and/or grade construction on road and/or bridge projects.
