Education

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Responsibilities
Tasks
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Supervise other workers
- Estimate costs and materials
- Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress
- Prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
- Teach workshops to trades students
- Develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery
- Deliver lectures and presentations
- Assist students to develop life skills
- Prepare reports
- Train students in practical shop work sessions
- Supervise students in work sessions
- Identify community skills, assets, issues, and needs
