Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is seeking an Accountant to provide financial insight, ensure accuracy, and support project teams throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
• Active pursuit of accounting designation considered an asset.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in construction or related industry preferred.
• Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting, forecasting and budgeting.
• Knowledge of government legislation and GAAP.
• Understanding of owner contracts, payment terms, billing and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting and administrative functions for large projects.
• Completes and reviews all financial transactions timely and accurately.
• Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis.
• Prepares bank deposits, reconciliations and cash receipt entries.
• Identifies irregularities or risk exposure and supports mitigation.
• Supervises, mentors and coaches entry level accounting staff.
