Qualifications

• Reporting to the Conservation Officer III (CO III), the Conservation Officer II (CO II) is responsible for delivering wildlife management, environmental protection, and renewable resource programs while enforcing territorial and federal legislation in accordance with the Nunavut Agreement.
• Working closely with Hunters and Trappers Organizations (HTOs), harvesters, communities, and partner agencies, the CO II promotes conservation, public education, and responsible resource management.

• Enforce territorial and federal laws relevant to wildlife and environment.
• Engage with HTOs, harvesters, communities and partner agencies to promote conservation.
• Educate the public and support sustainable use of wildlife and resources.

Salary range:$104,577 to $118,696 per year,37.5hours/week

Northern Allowance:

$28,732 per year (Clyde River)

$24,535 per year (Pangnirtung)

$24,146 per year (Sanikiluaq)

This department provides education and outreach to a wide range of audiences including youth, community members, elders and teachers to ensure the Inuit societal value of Avatittinnik Kamatsiarniq (environmental stewardship).
