Job summary

Intact is seeking a risk-inspection professional to conduct assessments, draft concise risk reports, and partner with underwriters to mitigate losses across Canada. You will engage with insureds to implement recommendations and improve safety programs, leveraging bilingual FR/EN communication, MS Office, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in fire prevention/building technology.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in risk inspection in insurance is a plus.
• Knowledge of fire, flood, extreme weather risk and prevention techniques.
• Ability to persuade clients and communicate clearly.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities; autonomous work style.
• Bilingual in French and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk inspections and evaluations, focusing on required improvements.
• Formulate recommendations to reduce or mitigate risks and impact losses.
• Prepare concise reports outlining risk characteristics and exposures.
• Identify conditions that may cause losses and suggest improvements to prevent incidents.
• Determine improvement measures and report on prevention strategies.
• Promote safety benefits and appropriate risk-control actions to clients.
• Support insureds by guiding and assisting with implementing recommendations.
• Collaborate with underwriters and maintain relationships across national offices.
