Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Conductor to join our team in Canada. The role supports train and yard operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and precise movement coordination. Expect unscheduled shifts, outdoor work in all weather, and potential career growth to foreperson, engineer, or management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass physical tasks and examinations.
• Read and understand safety instructions and operating rules in English.

Responsibilities

• Work in train or yard service depending on seniority.
• Follow instructions for train routes and movements.
• Coordinate switching of cars and lifting operations.
• Observe and relay signals affecting train movement.
• Signal crew members for engine or train movement via signals or radio.
• Follow GCOR, general orders, and bulletins.
• Provide flag protection and relay signals in emergencies.
