Job summary

Alberta is seeking a concrete finisher to perform finishing, leveling, sealing, and repairs on concrete surfaces at various locations. You will use hand tools, power tools, and vibrators to achieve a smooth finish and proper curing.

Applicants should have a secondary school certificate and be physically capable of standing for long periods and performing demanding tasks in urban and road construction settings across different locations.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools is preferred.
• Experience with power vibrators to compact concrete is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
