Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of construction experience.
  • Lift heavy materials and stand for long hours.
  • Operate power vibrators, screeds, and troweling machines.
  • CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient English language skills required.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Align and set wood or steel forms to the correct depth, pitch, and grade.
  • Direct concrete truck chutes, use rakes and shovels to distribute wet concrete evenly into forms.
  • Use screeds, hand floats, and power trowels to remove high and low spots and bring water to the top.
  • Mold expansion joints, edges, and decorative or non-slip broom finishes.
  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds and protect the wet slab from weather damage.
  • Fix cracks, fill voids, and grind down imperfections on older or newly cured surfaces.
  • Work with the Safety Advisors to ensure the work is performed safely.

Key Information:
  • Hours: Project dependent. Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime hours needed during the busy season (April - October)
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. (on-call rotation)
  • Open to travel out of town
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

  • Proficient English language skills required.
Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
