Giusti-Group-Limited-Partnership in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will excel in placing and finishing concrete surfaces, adhering to project specs and safety standards.

You will read blueprints, operate power trowels and ride-on machines, and collaborate with carpenters and other trades to ensure durable, high-quality results across slabs, sidewalks, and flatwork. This is a full-time, in-person role.

Qualifications

• Experience finishing concrete on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics/blueprints.
• Must be able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for concrete pouring by cleaning, leveling, and setting forms.
• Finish and spread concrete according to specifications using power trowels and ride-ons.
• Finish surfaces with hand tools and power tools to achieve desired textures.
• Restore and repair existing concrete structures as needed.
• Install slabs on grade, suspended slabs, and flatwork such as sidewalks and driveways.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other trades for seamless integration.
• Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to concrete installation and finishing.

Job description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete placing a/o finishing and the ability to work effectively in various construction environments. This role involves preparing and finishing concrete surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. The Concrete Placer / Finisher will collaborate with other tradespeople and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces for concrete pouring by cleaning, leveling, and setting forms.
• Finish, and spread concrete according to specifications (utilization of power trowels, ride-ons is a MUST)
• Finish surfaces using hand tools and power tools to achieve desired textures and finishes.
• Restore and repair existing concrete structures as needed.
• Install concrete features such as slabs on grade, suspended slabs, flatwork (sidewalks, driveways etc.)
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
• Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to ensure seamless integration of concrete work.
• Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with concrete installation and finishing.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools.
• Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques and practices.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively.
• Familiarity with power trowels, ride-ons, vibe strikes etc.
• Capability to build forms for pouring concrete accurately.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions.
