What You'll Do

Epic is seeking an experienced Concept Artist to join our team working on Fortnite, Rocket League, and Rocket Racing. A successful candidate should possess a strong sense of vehicle design, knowledge of 3D software, and a solid foundation in art theories. Must be a team player and demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously. The role involves working closely with the Art Director and Lead Concept Artist to create appealing vehicle designs and environments. The candidate will collaborate with the art team to implement and sustain the creative vision for the game.

In this role, you will

• Produce artwork encompassing all facets of development, including vehicle designs, environments, props, VFX exploration, pitch concepts, and marketing materials based on direction from Art Director, Lead Concept, and input from the game design team
• Collaborate on the visual style based on the Art Director’s direction, ensuring designs meet Epic quality standards, and create and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined schedule
• Be a versatile artist capable of executing various styles and adapting to project needs
• Collaborate with other discipline teams to produce a cohesive game experience

What We're Looking For

• An eye for modern automotive aesthetics that appeal to teens and young adults
• Ability to work within gameplay design constraints and translate those into visuals that enhance the experience
• Experience creating art from mechanical designs to exciting arena sports environments
• Proficiency in 3D software such as Maya, Blender, and/or ZBrush
• Strong foundation skills in composition, design, color theory, and industrial design
• Experience working with external outsourcing vendors
• Excellent understanding of art pipelines
• Strong communication skills and understanding of various art disciplines

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Compensation varies based on skills, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. Most employees are eligible for Epic’s benefit plans and incentive programs. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, critical illness, telemedicine, Life and AD&D, disability insurance, and a retirement plan with employer match. We also offer mental well-being programs and support services.

British Columbia Base Pay Range
$115,700—$169,694 CAD
