QUALIFICATIONS :

AXXEL HR has been mandated by our client to find an efficient, detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to join their Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will be integral in managing all aspects of the full accounting lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and regulatory filings. If you're ready to contribute to the success of a growing investment firm specialized in private and public investments, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Reconcile bank accounts and cash positions regularly.
  • Prepare and declare periodic government sales tax filings for various legal entities.
  • Direct accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collection.
  • Manage client payments (cheques, bank wires), aging, and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closings, ensuring proper posting and balance.
  • Assist in payroll preparation, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments, and proper ledger recording.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for all legal entities’ documents.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with applicable standards
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for senior management and stakeholders as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • College or bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Experience in and ability to work under a multi-company structure
  • Team and service-oriented
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is an asset
