Job summary

The Film Market in Vancouver seeks a Compositing Supervisor to lead our veteran visual effects team, guiding creative and technical decision‑making to deliver high‑quality composites on schedule.

You will mentor artists, optimize pipelines, and collaborate with production to resolve complex challenges; strong Nuke, 3D CG, OCIO/ACES, and Python skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of live-action compositing on features or TV.
• Expert Nuke skills and compositing workflows.
• Strong 3D CG knowledge: modeling, lighting, animation.
• Proven leadership, organization, and time management.
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication.
• Proficient with ShotGrid/Flow or similar tracking tools.
• Experience creating training materials.
• Background in traditional art/photography/film preferred.
• Python, Blinkscript or C++ experience preferred.
• OCIO/ACES color config management experience preferred.
• 360 VR or array compositing experience preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to British Columbia.

As a Compositing Supervisor, you will oversee the compositing team, ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries. Your expertise in compositing and production methodologies will guide the team to resolve creative and technical challenges.

Requirements

• 7 years live-action feature film or episodic compositing experience.
• Expert Nuke skills and knowledge of compositing workflows.
• Expert understanding of 3D computer graphics, including modeling, lighting, and animation.
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability and desire to engage in positive collaboration and communicate effectively.
• Advanced knowledge and experience using Shotgrid/Flow or other VFX Production tracking software
• Experience creating written or video recorded training materials
• Traditional art, photography, and film background (preferred)
• Python, Blinkscript, or C++ experience (preferred)
• Nuke particle experience (preferred)
• OCIO/ACES Color Config and management experience (preferred)
• 360 VR or Array Compositing experience (preferred)
