Job summary

Framestore Limited in Montreal is seeking a skilled compositor to join our Montreal studio. You’ll work with the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor to evaluate creative and technical approaches for assigned shots and execute briefs from leads.

You will integrate 2D, 3D and live-action elements to high-end visual effects, manage schedules, communicate with production, and balance creative and technical demands while applying strong knowledge of color space and lighting.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Nuke and production experience.
• Familiarity with stereo compositing and multiple render passes.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Pro-active and collaborative work ethic.
• Strong eye for detail, composition, color and lighting.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and solve problems.
• Understanding of color space principles.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots
• Take briefs and direction from Lead Compositors and VFX Supervisors to execute assigned shots
• Integrate 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects film standard
• Meeting schedules and show deadlines
• Ongoing communication with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines
• Take responsibility for own workload, time management and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors
• Balance the creative and technical aspects of each shot
• Work with a good knowledge of color space principles

A multi Oscar-winning creative studio, we have worked with some of the greatest storytellers in film today. Collaborating with directors and producers across the complete filmmaking process to help design, plan and create beautiful images, we focus on finding innovative creative solutions to support their vision and set new standards for visual effects in cinema.

Compositors seamlessly integrate all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. Compositors work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete visual-effects shots.
