Job summary

AAA Canada is seeking a Composite Materials Technician - Manufacturing with solid hands-on aerospace experience to lead the setup of a new composite manufacturing activity in Canada. You will act as a technical referent from prototype industrialization to production, developing processes, tooling, and best practices.

The role requires autonomy, bilingual French and English communication, and collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality aerospace

Qualifications

• DEC or DEP in composite materials, aeronautics, aircraft maintenance or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in composite manufacturing in the aerospace sector.
• Solid knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
• Experience in layup, curing, tooling, and process development.
• Experience in industrialization in low-volume, high-complexity environments.
• Ability to act as a technical referent and solve manufacturing issues.
• Good understanding of quality requirements and applicable regulations (TC, FAA, EASA).
• Autonomy, rigor, analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work with production, quality, and engineering teams.
• Bilingual in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute composite manufacturing processes for aircraft components.
• Participate in material selection, layup methods, curing cycles, and techniques.
• Design and fabricate tooling, molds, jigs, fixtures, and models.
• Drive industrialization from prototype to series production.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standards.
• Act as technical expert in composite materials and support troubleshooting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical input for quotes, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and proposals.
• Ensure activities comply with approved data, procedures, quality requirements, and regulations.
• Collaborate with quality teams to address non-conformances and improve processes.
• Maintain control of raw materials, finished parts, tooling, and manufacturing equipment; keep area clean and safe.

Job Description

As part of our operations in Canada, AAA Canada is looking for a Composite Materials Technician - Manufacturing with solid hands-on experience in the aerospace sector.

This newly created position is aimed at an experienced and autonomous individual who wants to play a key role in the setup and structuring of a new composite manufacturing activity.

You will act as a technical referent in composite manufacturing, from prototype industrialization to production, while contributing to the development of processes, tooling, and best practices.

Role and Responsibilities

• Set up and execute composite manufacturing processes for aircraft components and assemblies;
• Participate in the selection of materials, layup methods, curing cycles, and manufacturing techniques;
• Contribute to the design and fabrication of tooling, molds, jigs, fixtures, and models;
• Drive industrialization from prototype to series production;
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and internal manufacturing standards;
• Act as a technical expert in composite materials and support teams in troubleshooting;
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives;
• Provide technical expertise for requests for quotes, cost estimations, feasibility studies, and proposals;
• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with approved data, internal procedures, quality requirements, and applicable regulations;
• Collaborate with quality teams to address non-conformances and improve processes;
• Ensure proper control of raw materials, finished parts, tooling, and manufacturing equipment;
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Profile Sought

• DEC or DEP in composite materials, aeronautics, aircraft maintenance, or a related technical field;
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing in the aerospace sector;
• Solid knowledge of composite manufacturing processes;
• Experience in layup, curing, tooling, and process development;
• Experience in industrialization, ideally in a low-volume, high-complexity environment;
• Ability to act as a technical referent and solve manufacturing issues;
• Good understanding of quality requirements and applicable regulations, notably Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA;
• Autonomy, rigor, analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset;
• Ability to work effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams;
• Bilingualism in French and English.

The position requires a very good command of English, both oral and written, particularly for the daily reading of technical documentation and exchanges with international clients, suppliers, and partners.
