Job summary

Sanofi in Toronto is seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Ethics & Business Integrity function. The role provides strategic, timely compliance guidance and risk assessment across initiatives and activities for personnel at all levels of the organization.

You will train on global and local healthcare requirements, communicate findings to management, and partner with NA/Global teams to implement standards. Strong relationship management and eight years in pharma are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree valued but not required.
  • Experience assessing fraud and abuse risk in a pragmatic, risk-based way.
  • Ability to manage and lead change in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional relationship-management skills and communication abilities.
  • Eight years of pharma or life sciences experience in related roles.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills; French valued but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers training on global and local healthcare requirements and regulator updates.
  • Communicates key risks and topics from helpline inquiries and monitoring results to Sanofi management.
  • Maintains trusted relationships to integrate compliance into strategic decisions across functions.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to Compliance Committees and leadership updates; communicates data and updates.
  • Participates in special projects as a catalyst for NA/Global E&BI initiatives and process improvements.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic, timely and practical compliance advice and risk assessment on initiatives, projects and field and home office activities to individuals at all levels and roles in Sanofi’s organization.
  • Partners with colleagues in North America and Global E&BI as well as other functional and business areas to implement local and global requirements, internal standards such as Sanofi’s Code of Conduct, and industry standards.
  • Develops and delivers training on global and local healthcare requirements, guidance and updates from relevant government regulators and pertinent industry and internal standards.
  • Effectively communicates with Sanofi management on key risks and topics identified from Helpline inquiries, monitoring program results and daily oversight of the compliance program.
  • Maintains trusted relationships with partners and colleagues in Commercial, Medical and enabling functions to integrate compliance into strategic decisions.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to Compliance Committees, Business Leadership Updates, Legal and E&BI meetings and company-wide Town Halls, effectively communicating key compliance data and strategic updates.
  • Participates in special projects, acting as a catalyst for corporate initiatives in the NA/Global E&BI Organization, such as business process improvement efforts.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion.
About You
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree in a related discipline is valued but not required for consideration
  • Experience assessing fraud and abuse risk and problem solving in a risk-based, pragmatic way
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change in a large, matrixed organization
  • Exceptional relationship-management skills
  • Eight years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry in related roles
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • French language proficiency is valued but not required for consideration
