Job summary

BMW Group Financial Services Canada, located in Richmond Hill, offers a 12-month Compliance & Governance Intern position. You will support the Chief Compliance Officer in developing, implementing and maintaining the local Compliance Management System to meet internal and external compliance requirements.

This role provides hands-on experience with CMS, governance frameworks, reporting, and communication, while building skills in Python, Tableau, and Microsoft 365 tools.

Qualifications

  • Completed a post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus on business.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Approvals, Power Automate) is an asset.
  • Technical fluency: Python programming and leveraging AI tools to build or automate work solutions.
  • Tableau knowledge is an asset.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance of an effective Compliance Management System (CMS) meeting all internal and external requirements.
  • Manage and update the Compliance pages for the Associate Intranet.
  • Support governance framework oversight, newsletters, and committee management.
  • Support monitoring and testing of compliance-related controls.
  • Assist with compliance communications and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist in implementing compliance processes and tools.
  • Support regular and ad-hoc compliance reporting to local management and central functions.
  • Develop presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights.
  • Participate in trainings and presentations.

BMW Group Financial Services Canada, located in Richmond Hill, is offering an internship within its Compliance Department. The successful candidate will be actively supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in the development, implementation and maintenance of the local Compliance Management System in accordance with relevant internal and external compliance requirements.

  • Support maintenance of an effective Compliance Management System (CMS) meeting all internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Manage and update the Compliance pages for the Associate Intranet.
  • Support the operation of the Corporate Governance Framework: policies & procedures oversight, monthly newsletter communications, and committee management.
  • Support monitoring & testing of compliance related controls.
  • Support regular compliance communication and awareness campaigns towards associates.
  • Support implementation of compliance processes and tools.
  • Support regular and ad-hoc compliance reporting to local management and central functions.
  • Support compliance-related projects as needed by developing presentations, dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate key insights and drive informed decision-making
  • Support and participate in presentations and training sessions
  • This position may take on additional duties and responsibilities, should the need arise.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $47,000 - $49,000, with variations based on factors like experience, education and skills. Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
