The Nova Scotia Accessibility Directorate is seeking a Compliance and Enforcement Coordinator to support compliance activities under the Accessibility Act. You will track inquiries, coordinate monitoring, and conduct inspections in partnership with public sector bodies and industry partners.
You will work under the Manager of Compliance and Capacity Building, developing strategies, processes, and educational materials, and may assist at public events and outreach to prescribed organizations.

The Nova Scotia Accessibility Directorate is a dynamic and committed team that is leading and coordinating Nova Scotia’s work towards the goal to become an accessible province by 2030. We work together with persons with disabilities, community organizations, businesses, municipalities, post-secondary institutions and other partners to advance the cultural shift needed.
The Accessibility Directorate has built strong relationships across government and with public sector and community partners to support their efforts to improve accessibility, including the Government’s accessibility plan. We lead the development of accessibility standards in the areas of education, employment, service delivery, public transportation, and information and communication. The Directorate also leads the implementation and enforcement of the Built Environment Accessibility Standard Regulation. Additionally, we develop accessibility awareness resources, tools and awareness activities to help create more accessible and inclusive communities.
As Compliance and Enforcement Coordinator, you will support the Accessibility Directorate’s compliance and enforcement activities. You will track compliance inquiries, coordinate compliance monitoring and reporting, and conduct inspection and enforcement activities as needed. You will work with public sector bodies, government departments, businesses, and the public to advance understanding and compliance with the legislation. You will work with Directorate staff to develop and implement compliance strategies, processes, resources.

Salary Range: $2,112.87- $3,029.89Bi-Weekly
