Job summary

Peoples Group is hiring a Compliance Analyst to support the Regulatory Compliance Management program across our Toronto and Vancouver offices. You will assist with policy development, controls, and regulatory reporting while collaborating with stakeholders to drive compliance.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a compliance, regulatory, or legal, or research role.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, payments, fintech, regulatory affairs, risk management, or similar regulated industry is a strong asset.
  • Ability to produce policy, procedural, or technical documents.
  • Experience translating regulatory requirements into operational processes and controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in regulatory documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support governance, execution, and maintenance of the RCM Program.
  • Develop and review compliance documentation, including policies and procedures.
  • Assist with assessments, testing, and follow-up actions to assess regulatory adherence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide compliance guidance.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate potential impacts.
  • Prepare executive reports and other compliance communications.
  • Deliver training on RCM components to various teams.
  • Translate regulatory developments into actionable guidance for the business.
  • Review and maintain policies, standards, and operating documentation.
  • Support compliance initiatives and manage special projects as required.
  • Promote a culture of compliance through stakeholder engagement.

Job description

We arehiring forthis position out of ourToronto and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected torelocateandresidein a location that is within a commutable distance.

About the role:

As a Compliance Analyst, you will be supporting the day-to-day activities of the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) program. You are a motivated and focused individual with a team-oriented mindset who has experience providing compliance, regulatory, legal or research services. You have experience analyzing regulatory and policy issues, conducting research and analysis on a spectrum of matters, and writing business documentation. You understand the importance of relationship management and have experience engaging with various levels of business stakeholders. You are a natural problem-solver and use your knack for analysis when finding solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the challenge of hitting deadlines and creating deliverables.

About the day-to-day:
  • Support the governance, execution, and maintenance of the RCM Program.
  • Support the ongoing development, implementation, and review of compliance documentation, including policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compliance assessments, testing activities, and follow-up actions to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide compliance guidance and support.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate potential business impacts.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and other compliance-related communications.
  • Deliver training on various components of the RCM program tailored to different teams across the organization.
  • Conduct research and analysis of regulatory, legal, and policy developments, interpreting requirements and translating them into actionable business guidance.
  • Review, draft, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and operating documentation to support regulatory compliance obligations and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation of compliance initiatives and manage special projects as required.
  • Promote a culture of compliance through stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing.
About the qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience in a compliance, regulatory, or legal, or research role.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, payments, fintech, regulatory affairs, risk management, or a similarly regulated industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to comprehend and produce policy, procedural, or technical documents.
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory, legal, policy, or business requirements and translating them into operational processes and controls.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience researching, analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues, assess impacts, and ensure accuracy in complex regulatory and compliance documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Experience with working with various stakeholders within an organization, including management.
  • Experience with compliance software and/or willingness to learn compliance software.
  • Strong proficiency with systems: MS Office 365; intermediate to advanced level of Excel (pivot tables, IF functions, Lookup functions).
  • Adaptable, flexible, innovative, and responsive to change.
  • Ability to grasp business concepts in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-entity environment.

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically,you'llbe working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Compensation:

The expected salary for this role isapproximately$65,000.00 - $75,000.00annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
