The Team

The Intel Compiler Engineering Team is a high performing team responsible for the industry‑leading LLVM‑based Intel C, C++, SYCL, and Fortran Compilers. The team consists of leaders in the LLVM community. We are continually pushing the boundaries of compiler technology in support of providing maximally useful and performant compilers for all of Intel's processor platforms, both CPU and GPUs.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Compiler Engineer to work on Intel's open‑source compiler stack. You will work on the development of new features that will enable the latest language standards. This work will enable you to collaborate upstream with the members of the clang open‑source community, collaborating industry wide to deliver the best solutions. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive on diving deep into complex problems and collaborating broadly when needed. Curiosity is a must.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of experience OR Master's in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics or related technical fields and 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in C/C++, object‑oriented programming, and data structures.
  • Hands‑on compiler development experience.
  • Demonstrated history of technical contributions to open‑source projects.
  • Demonstrated history of technical contributions to Clang (commit history, patches, reviews) Core LLVM expertise including hands‑on experience building compilers or compiler components using the LLVM framework, including optimization passes, code generation, or frontend integration.
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills, ability to proactively pursue solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate-level C/C++with deep understanding of language constructs.
  • oneAPI, or other similar vendor toolchain development.
  • Participation in standards committees (C, C++, Khronos, etc.)

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as a fully home‑based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. However, you must live and work from the country specified in the job posting, in which Intel has a legal presence.
