Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a casual Resident Care Attendant at Brandt's Creek Mews in Kelowna, BC. You will work under the Director of Care to ensure high-quality resident care in line with provincial standards, joining an interdisciplinary team to optimize wellbeing.

You will observe residents, contribute to care plans, assist with daily living activities, and support transfers and meals, while upholding safety policies and water temp controls.

Qualifications

• Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
• Minimum HCA Provincial Certification required.
• Must be fluent in English, both oral and written.
• 5 years’ experience as HCA in continuing care setting with supervision/leadership.
• Experience in caring for Residents with Dementia.
• Ability to perform lifting/transferring tasks.

Responsibilities

• Observe residents for changes in status during care tasks and report to the Nurse promptly.
• Contribute to the Nursing Care Plan by sharing observations and residents' needs.
• Collaborate with the health care team to address individual resident needs.
• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the Nursing Care Plan.
• Assist with transfers using appropriate safety equipment.
• Assist with feeding during meals and nourishments.
• Provide routine treatments and care under Nurse direction.
• Assist residents to travel within the facility.
• Monitor activities of daily living and report changes.
• Participate in care conferences and evaluation of care provided.
