Job summary

AgeCare Brandt's Creek Mews in Kelowna, BC, is seeking a Resident Care Attendant to support the care team under the Director of Care. This casual, on-site role requires BC Care Aide Registry registration and HCA certification, with a minimum of five years in continuing care and dementia care experience.

You will observe residents, assist with bathing, feeding, and transfers, and contribute to the Nursing Care Plan with holistic care in mind. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
• Minimum HCA Provincial Certification required.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• At least 5 years’ HCA or equivalent in continuing care with leadership abilities.
• Experience caring for residents with dementia.
• Ability to perform lifting and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Observe residents for changes in status during bathing, dressing, and care.
• Report changes to the Nurse as soon as possible.
• Contribute to the Nursing Care Plan by sharing observations and needs.
• Collaborate with the health care team to address resident needs holistically.
• Provide routine care and basic treatments under Nurse direction.
• Assist residents with transfers and mobility as needed.
