Job summary

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a Personal Care Attendant for the Central Zone at JPM/LKH - James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre/Lakeside Homes/Long-Term Care in Gander. The role is permanent full‑time, with a 75-hour schedule across days, evenings, nights and weekends.

You will provide daily living support to patients/residents, contribute to safety and quality of care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet individual needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a personal care attendant program approved by Central Health.
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to NL Health Services values: I CARE.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support in all aspects of daily living to patients/residents who may be physically or cognitively impaired and who may exhibit challenging behaviours.
• Provide companionship and escort residents to outside appointments.
• Provide input to the interdisciplinary team and participate in related duties.
• Promote person- and family-centered care and support safety with all team members.
