Job summary

Providence Living is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a temporary part-time role at The Views in Comox, BC. The LPN will provide respectful nursing care, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, homelike environment for residents.

The position requires BC LPN registration and full scope practice. Hours are 1500-2300 and 2300-0700 in a 0.83 FTE arrangement (59.1 biweekly hours).

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
• Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN Registrant.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team.
• Demonstrated ability to work within full scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and respectful nursing care to residents per policies and care plans.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments and reports abnormal findings to RN/RPN.
• Contributes to development and updates of the plan of care.
• Administers medications to residents according to procedures.
• Participates in admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assesses resident and family needs and supports activities of daily living.
• Documents all care and procedures for resident safety and compliance.
• Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
• Engages in quality improvement and team meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
