Job summary

Oxford Manor Retirement is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Aide to maintain cleanliness and dignity for residents. The role supports daily living activities, disinfects rooms, and engages residents in meaningful tasks within a warm home setting.

The position requires reading, writing, and strong empathy for seniors; CPR/First Aid is preferred, with a clear vulnerable sector screen and references. We offer competitive wages and growth support.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions.
• Current CPR & First Aid Certificate preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in hospitality or a retirement home.
• Familiar with Retirement Homes Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Clear vulnerable sector screen, TB test within 6 months, and three supervisory references.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping tasks: cleaning, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing, polishing, and waste management.
• May include laundry services.
• Maintains infection control and health and safety practices.
• Respects privacy and dignity and promotes confidentiality.
• Reports safety or risk concerns to the Environmental Services Manager.
• Communicates with Residents, families, and fellow associates.
• Promotes Residents’ Bill of Rights and the home’s vision and values.
• All other duties as assigned.
