Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of resident apartments and common areas. The role supports a safe, comfortable living environment for seniors across our retirement residences in Manitoba.

The ideal candidate will have strong English communication, experience with institutional cleaning, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Training and adherence to safety policies are provided.

Qualifications

Good oral and written English communication skills.
Ability to provide feedback on a day-to-day basis.
Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

To clean Resident's apartments and common areas according to assigned schedules.
To operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment.
To strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces.
To pick up garbage and transport to designated areas.
To adhere to residence policies and procedures, including safety rules.
To attend in-service training and staff meetings.
To participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents).
To complete other duties as assigned.
