Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Health Care Aide for the Medical Assessment Unit at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. You will support patients with activities of daily living, personal care, mobility, nutrition, and comfort under supervision of a regulated health professional.

This part-time position (0.70 FTE) requires HCA certification, recent BCLS-HCP, and ability to meet physical demands; posting ends 19-OCT-2026 with shifting days/evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide.
• Proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Course (or equivalent).
• Current BCLS-HCP taken within last 12 months from HSFC.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care.
• Assist with lifting and transferring and mobility.
• Support nurses with routine care and health care tasks.
• Observe and report on patients' mood, health and wellbeing.
