Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Hanna is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join a collaborative multidisciplinary team and support daily living activities in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies.

The role includes assisting with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, safety, and reporting changes to the care team, while communicating with patients and families. This is a temporary, part-time position (0.80 FTE) with shift patterns including days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Active registration or eligible for registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide.
• Proof of Health Care Aide education or completion of the certificate within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assist nurses with routine care and observe patient wellbeing.
• Support care across home, community and health care facilities per the patient care plan.
• Maintain a safe environment and communicate with patients, families and health care professionals.
