Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Health Care Aide for Red River Place LTC in Selkirk, Manitoba. You will support personal care, mobility, and daily living activities under supervision, while upholding Extendicare standards and policies.

Qualifications include HCA program completion (or provincial equivalent with 500 hours) and experience with seniors. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Health Care Aide program (or provincial equivalent certificate with 500 hours of theory and practicum).
• Experience with seniors in community health settings preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.
• Knowledge of personal care duties; Lifting/transfers ability.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and maintain a safe environment.
