Job summary

Qualicare Homecare BC is seeking Health Care Aides (HCAs) / Caregivers to support clients across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Richmond, Burnaby, Delta, and Tri-Cities. Roles involve personal care, dementia support, meal prep, and companionship in clients’ homes.

We offer flexible shifts from 2 to 12 hours, ongoing assignments, and opportunities for training through QPath Career Pathways.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent
• Prior experience in caregiving or supporting individuals with Alzheimer's/dementia is an asset
• Must reside in Metro Vancouver or Lower Mainland and be willing to commute to shifts
• Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
• CRC for Vulnerable Sector Check valid for 5 years or willingness to obtain
• Ability to travel around your local community
• Internet/smartphone access with data

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care, grooming, hygiene, and mobility
• Implement redirection, calming techniques, and routine management for dementia/memory loss
• Meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Accompany clients on outings, shopping, and errands
• Medication assist / reminders
• Ambulation and transporting of clients
• Provide companionship and cognitive stimulation
• Follow care plans and document/chart accurately
