Job summary

Qualicare Homecare BC is actively seeking compassionate Health Care Aides (HCAs) and Caregivers to join our team serving Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including Surrey, Langley, Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Delta and the Tri-Cities. The role involves personal care, dementia support, meal prep and companionship, with shifts ranging from 2 to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in general caregiving or supporting individuals with Alzheimer's/dementia is a strong asset.
• Must reside in Metro Vancouver or the Lower Mainland and be willing and able to commute to shifts in your local community.
• Current CPR/First Aid training (or willingness to obtain).
• CRC for Vulnerable Sector Check valid for 5 years (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to travel around your local community.
• Access to Internet / smartphone with data.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care, grooming, hygiene, and mobility.
• Implement redirection, calming techniques, and routine management for clients with dementia or memory loss.
• Meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Accompany clients on outings, shopping, and errands.
• Medication Assist / Reminders.
• Ambulation and transporting of clients.
• Provide companionship, cognitive stimulation, and gentle support.
• Ability to follow care plans and provide accurate documentation/charting.
