Job summary

Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation is seeking a Homemaker to support Elders and clients in Esowista, Ty-Histanis, and Opitsaht communities. This role emphasizes respectful, confidential care and hands-on cleaning within client homes to enhance overall well-being.

The Homemaker will travel between housing units, perform domestic tasks, and coordinate with the Community Services Manager to implement the care plan. A valid driver’s license and physical ability are required.

Qualifications

• Education, training and certificates
• High School Diploma and valid driver's license required
• Ability to perform cleaning tasks with minimum supervision
• 1–3 years homemaking/home support experience

Responsibilities

• Provide professional homemaking services to pre-approved Nation members as directed by the Manager of Community Services
• Perform thorough cleaning duties: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dishes, dusting, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, and upkeep
• Establish trusting, professional relationships with clients in their homes
• Follow a cleaning schedule per the client care plan
• Maintain client privacy, adapt to various situations, and report incidents
