Job summary

Chartwell Fraser Terrace Retirement Residence in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Dining Server to provide meal service and support catering events, delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests.

The role involves food preparation, taking orders, setting tables, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety guidelines. Candidates should have kitchen experience, strong communication, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a current Safe Food Handler’s certification.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen is an asset.
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively, and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is an asset.
• Must be able to operate related equipment.
• Demonstrate empathy for the needs of seniors.
• Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints.
• Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Current Safe Food Handler’s Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for serving to residents and ensure satisfaction with meal service.
• Take orders, set and strip tables, and serve food/beverages per policies and procedures.
• Unpack and store supplies; maintain clean, safe, sanitary work areas.
• Wash, clean and sort dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment used for food prep and service.
• Operate and clean food equipment and maintain dining area.
