Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant at Waterhouse Manor Care Home in Peterborough. You will deliver high standards of personal care and contribute to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

No prior experience required as we provide a thorough induction and training programme to build confidence in your role; you will communicate effectively, show initiative, and be adaptable to cover a range of duties with respect and compassion.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and others.
• Be an efficient worker who can follow reasonable instructions from team members.
• Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and elevate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
