Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Chef de Partie to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering a nutritionally balanced, high-quality culinary service across our homes. You will contribute to wellbeing through meeting residents’ dietary needs and maintaining food quality.

Ideal candidates will have a catering qualification, a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and at least 1 year of catering experience, with a flexible approach to cover a range of duties as required by the team.

Qualifications

  • Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality culinary services.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and dietary requirements.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste.
  • Working with Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review menus regularly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Chef de Partie will be to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.
