Job summary

The Scope Society of Alberta is a not-for-profit agency offering wraparound 24/7 support for adults with developmental disabilities and mental health concerns. We provide specialized paid training, including CPI and ASIST, to develop skills for complex needs programs.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field with 1–2 years' experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
• Crisis Intervention knowledge and ability to handle high-stress situations.
• Training in First Aid and CPR, CPI and Vecova Medication Administration is an asset.
• Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check required before starting shifts.

Responsibilities

• Promoting individual goals and aspirations.
• Supporting daily activities including volunteer work, employment, and transport to appointments.
• Providing mental health and behavioral support.
• Assisting with health maintenance, medical appointments, and medication liaison.
• Helping with home maintenance and daily routines (meal prep, cleaning, laundry).
• Fostering meaningful relationships and supporting client empowerment.
• Respecting rights and promoting client choice and autonomy.
