Job summary

Home Care Assistance in Midland, Ontario is hiring PSWs to provide in-home care for community clients. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings and overnights, with every other weekend and potential future live-in opportunities.

The role requires DSW/PSW/SSW certification, CPR/First Aid, and a recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check; a valid driver’s license and own vehicle are mandatory. Benefits and scheduling flexibility are offered to successful applicants.

Qualifications

• DSW/PSW/SSW certification is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.
• CPI training is an asset.
• Driver's license and own insured vehicle is mandatory.
• Satisfactory professional references.
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitor care plan and document changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Provide behaviors support and crisis intervention
• All other duties, as assigned
