Job summary

Qualifications

• Two-year Diploma in Human Services; degree preferred.
• Experience in homeless or community development sector is required (1–3 years).
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License is required.
• Certificate in First Aid/CPR, Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with city councillors, community leaders, and organizations.
• Participate in local planning initiatives and represent shelter on housing and homelessness committees.
• Lead volunteer and student placement programs; on‑call duties as scheduled.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OHSA sections 25 & 26; conduct information sessions and safety talks.
• Support program planning, partnerships with service providers, and client access to housing supports.
• Oversee minor financial matters and budget adherence; manage donations and resources.
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with The Salvation Army’s mission, values and policies.
