This role is focused on supporting neurodiverse youth in developing friendships and independence through engaging programming. Applicants should be passionate about helping youth achieve their full potential and possess relevant education or experience in childcare or youth support.

Job description

We are looking for an individual to step into our Y&i Program this summer to support neurodiverse youth age 10 -18 as they build meaningful friendships have fun develop independence and get connected to the community.

  • Engaging youth in impactful and beneficial group programming in a fun energetic and enthusiastic way
  • Assisting Program Facilitators with implementing group program plans daily activities and one-to-one support in accordance with YMCA standards and program expectations
  • Fostering meaningful relationships and provide a place to belong for youth seeking growth in their lives
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all members participants staff and property at all times

Wed love to hear from people with :

  • Relevant education or education in progress (degree diploma or certificate) and / or experience working with children and / or youth
  • Experience working with children & youth with exceptionalities an asset
  • Excellent work ethic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion to help youth achieve their full potential through purposeful programming and implementation
  • A high regard for Child Safeguarding practices
  • This role will start mid-June if candidates onboarding is completed.

Summer Hours : Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM and Mondays for 3 hours (exact time to be determined)

Wage : $24.91 / hr
