Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support dispensing prescriptions, assist in delivery of pharmacy services, and help run the pharmacy per established standards. You'll work to provide superior, timely, and pleasant service to customers in a community-focused setting.

Responsibilities include prescription data entry, order processing, third-party adjudication, and assisting the pharmacist with counseling and workflow while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Assistant diploma credited course preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and gather prescription information according to Standards.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist and manage wait times.
• Receive, process, and file prescription orders per SOPs.
• Adjudicate third-party billing and manage related accounts.
• Assist pharmacist in prescription preparation and data entry for new prescriptions.
• Count, package, and label medications per Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy in handling prescriptions and data.
