Job summary

The Town of High Level is seeking a Community Peace Officer who will join a small Enforcement Services group. You will help maintain public peace, contribute to town beautification, and enforce municipal bylaws and provincial statutes with both proactive and reactive approaches.

Requirements include a diploma in Law Enforcement, Police Foundations, Criminology or completion of the CPO introduction program, plus a valid Class 5 license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • Two+ years of experience in law enforcement or related field.
  • Diploma in Law Enforcement, Police Foundations, Criminology, or completion of CPO introduction program.
  • Must meet Solicitor General requirements to be appointed as a CPO; valid Class 5 driver's license and satisfactory driving abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance of public peace and town beautification.
  • Proactively and reactively enforce municipal bylaws and provincial statutes.
  • Handle bylaw complaints, field investigations and inspections.

The Opportunity

As a member of a small Enforcement Services group, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of and preservation of public peace, Town beautification and ensuring a safe and viable community through proactive and reactive enforcement of the administration of municipal bylaws and provincial statutes.

You will use your investigative skills in dealing with bylaw complaints, conducting field investigations and inspections.

Your experience consists of a minimum of two years of experience in law enforcement or a related field.

Your educational background includes a diploma in Law Enforcement, Police Foundations, Criminology, etc. or completion of the CPO introduction program. You must meet the requirements to be appointed as a CPO by the Solicitor General. Additionally, you will have a valid class 5 drivers license and a satisfactory drivers abstract.
