Job summary

Kinsight Society, a non profit serving families in the Tri-Cities, seeks a Community Outreach Worker to provide 1-1 support in the community and help develop clients’ skills in daily living, transportation and community connection.

This role requires a Diploma in Human Services or equivalent, a Class 5 Driver’s License with own vehicle, valid First Aid/CPR/NVCI, and BCGEU membership. Flexibility for evenings/weekends and potential reassignment to other programs is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Human Services or Community Support Worker or equivalent.
• Class 5 Drivers License and own vehicle.
• Community Care First Aid/CPR/NVCi, Food Safe Certificate.
• Maintain Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check clearance throughout employment.
• Knowledge and experience in the facilitation of the Person Centered Planning Process, positive behavioral support techniques, and skills based training.
• Knowledge and ability to use augmentative communication, strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families.
• Experience assisting people with support needs related to developmental disabilities and/or adaptive functioning.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• This position requires BCGEU union membership.

SHIFTS:

35 hours/week - on a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends), to accommodate the individuals being supported. *May be required to work Statutory Holidays.

Schedule:

Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Monday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Tuesday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Thursday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
