Job summary

The Girl Guides of Canada is hiring two temporary Community Outreach Event Representatives to support membership growth in Ontario.   • Gather and evaluate event data, reporting results.
  • Communicate regularly with the Community Engagement Coordinator.

Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) is a national membership‑based organization that empowers every girl to discover herself and be everything she wants to be. GGC seeks to be a catalyst for girls empowering girls, building a better world by girls.

About This Opportunity

We are actively hiring two temporary Community Outreach Event Representatives to support membership growth in Ontario. The role reports to the Team Lead, Community Engagement, and involves representing GGC at key events across the province, recruiting new adult and girl members, and ensuring event success to meet strategic growth objectives.

Schedule and Locations
  • Ottawa Capital Pride (Ottawa) – Aug 28 to Aug 30
  • Ottawa Capital Pride Festival, date TBD (Ottawa)
  • Leamington Fair (Windsor) – May 21 to May 24
  • London Pride Festival (London) – July 17 to July 19
  • Montreal South Shore Mudgirl – July 4 to July 5
Responsibilities
  • Represent GGC at local community events, maintaining brand integrity.
  • Activate booths by distributing brochures, engaging attendees, providing information on GGC programming, and directing inquiries.
  • Collect potential leads using designated methods.
  • Collaborate with GGC volunteers supporting the events.
  • Transport equipment to and from storage locations and event venues.
  • Set up and tear down booths according to GGC design guidelines.
  • Gather and evaluate event data, reporting qualitative and quantitative results.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the event.
  • Communicate regularly with the Community Engagement Coordinator, Member Growth.
  • Apply organizational policies on inclusivity to event processes and customer queries.
Candidate Profile
  • Related post‑secondary education or relevant work experience in recruitment, promotion, events, marketing, or sales.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License, Class G, in good standing.
  • Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle for equipment transport.
  • Ability to travel up to 2.5 hours to events in the region.
Assets
  • Experience in membership‑based, association, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Knowledge of Girl Guides of Canada.
Compensation

Starting Salary: $21.00 per hour, plus mileage and meal expenses will be paid.
